My last commission before Christmas was a brief by BBC Wildlife Magazine and I have to say, it was a complete joy to work on. It was soothing to depict these beautiful, untouched, wintery scenes and the animals that inhabit them. What made it even more lovely is that all of these spectacles can be admired in the British Isles; as I was painting I was planning future trips!
A bittern on the River Lee
A short-eared owl above the Seven Estuary
A red squirrel in Kielder Forest
Starling displays in Wales
Rooks on the Norfolk Broads
Native ponies in the New Forest
A mountain hare and a ptarmigan in the Scottish Highlands
